>>>They are calling it the Max-ipad.

>>>That is SOOOOO lame.....and besides, if I "pulled the string" on topics like that, people would jump on me.

>>My sweet daughter Emily (not being ironic) just stopped by on her way to the homecoming rally. She will be speaking for the volleyball team. Mostly it's coaches delivering leaden rah-rah bits. Her coach is terrific, a college player herself, but is not the grab-the-microphone type and told Emily to put something together. As of this morning she had a comical skit in mind. She and her teammates were going to enact some of their in-house sayings like "Get back!" and "Nasty!" Maybe it will fall flat, who knows. I am pleased that she was asked. She is all but grown up now and she is her own person.

>>What colors these statements is a conversation in which you said Katy is going to be like X, Y, and Z. Tracy and I were in occasional agreement that it's not going to be exactly like that. We influence our children, hopefully in a good way, but past a certain point they are on their own path. It's actually a beautiful thing to behold.

>I agree. :o) Good luck to her! I hope it goes great. It takes a bit if bravery to get in front of your friends and speak. However, you are probably more terrified than she is :o)

Thanks for the good words. No, I am not terrified at all. She has an offhand casualness that must come from her mom. Even if it doesn't go well, she is good at shaking things off after initial mortification. All part of the growth process.
