>No, we can think for ourselves and thats why there is so much backlash against Crapple. We think, unlike the fanboyz who sheepishly follow what Jobs feeds them. Here's what you can do with it. Here's what you can put on it. Here's how you can put stuff on it. Nothing more. You don't have to think.

>As for the scenario I described, you are right there beside the camera that just took the photo. Let's see now. Your mother now has to fire up a computer, go online to email/facebook/picassa/blah/blah...to you. You then fire up another computer, go to your email/facebook/picassa/blah/blah...to download it to your computer. Then you plug in your iCant to "synch" it before you can view it. Whew. How about this instead? Connect that miniUSB cable from your mothers camera to your USB capable device (read real tablet) and just copy it. How about, take that SD card out of the camera, pop it into the SD slot of same device and copy it. Wow. How's that for magical

>This evening my wife took a picture with her phone and emailed it to me. I used my iPad to receive the email The emai client on the iPad has the ability to save an attachment right to my photo album. If anything, that's more efficient than using a miniUSB cable.

>Mike, someone PMd me tonight and objected to my use of "parroting". Sorry, but I stand by what I said. A person who is either willing to try something, or at least Google and see if something can be done, is capable of thinking for themselves. I read your posts and I don't see one objective thing about the iPad. I don't deny there are plenty of Apple shills out there who need to be knocked down a peg or two - there are also those who can't talk about ANY major Apple product without sounding like they're ready to heave. Both are off-base and missing the boat.

>- Set up all my emai accounts (an Exchange account and 3 personal accounts)
>- Set up twitter on it

>No complaints so far. Not one hiccup, not one glich, not one single issue. The iTunes synch works great. Every month I miss out on several chances to do some extended reading because I don't feel like sitting in front of a computer or getting my laptop out. That's now a thing of the past.

>That's just a start, but a pretty good one. So not too many ICan'ts coming out of my mouth. I'm not saying everyone should buy this product - but I am saying that anyone who wants to make blanket statements about Apple should actually give the iPad a look.

Well I'm glad it does everything you want it to do. For me the iPad (I'm going to fight the urge to call it iCant from now on) is nothing more than a bigger version of my daughters iPod and that is nothing but a toy and an expensive one at that. It is not a tablet "computer" and there is nothing "magical" about it to me. The thing that really irks me is the way people defend it and Mr. Job's attitude in general. Not only that, but, for about the same price we'll be able to buy a true tablet computer running a full OS and all of the hardware that I felt the iPad should have had in the first place.

My positive take on Apple is that they are very good at marketing and creating hype to the point that they can convince people Apple is their only choice. I think that will change shortly, at least for those people who expected more from the iPad like myself.
