In our contracts we require that the users have one UPS per PC plus one for each server. We haven't experienced corrupted tables in years since we included this requirement in our contracts. No UPS means no guarantee.

Most of our customers are running in a networked environment with multiple machines accessing the tables. Most commonly these machines are all running Windows XP sp3. Does anyone know what causes this or how to prevent it?

I agree with Tore that a server is much better than a workstation. Another factor that I have found has reduced any kind of corruption for me is the proper use of buffering and transactions. Never edit a table directly, always use buffering.
