I had not heard the Patriots were thinking of dealing Randy Moss. To be honest I don't get it. Sure, he brings a lot of baggage, but he is still an elite receiver. It seems to me there is enough maturity on the Patriots to keep him in line. The Vikings could sure use him. Without Sidney Rice they can't stretch out the field the way they want to.

Have you seen the Lions play? That is no 0-16 team. They had the Bears beaten and played the Vikings close.

I am afraid you're right about the Bears. They have already exceeded my expectations.

>At 1-2 and coming off a bye-week after beating the Texas, the Cowboys probably think they have the rest of the division right where they want them.
>
>In week 2, the Redskins had a 17-point lead and blew the game. Why? Because they lacked a running game. In week 4, they had a 14 point lead against Philly and held on. Why? Because they had a running game. This will be the make-or-break factor all season long for them.
>
>The Giants desperately needed a win - and got it. Just like the TV show Heroes told us to "Save the cheerleader", Tom Coughlin is begging his players to "Protect the ball". They look very fragile right now.
>
>Think Philly's biggest headache is the QB position? How about their o-line? Or their defense? Or their inconsistent receivers? Or a head coach that can't tell time? Oh, and yeah....they have a QB issue as well.
>
>If the Vikings pick up Randy Moss, you can practically punch their ticket for the NFC North.
>
>Ten bucks says the Bears fold in the 2nd half of the season - or maybe even sooner. Sunday night's performance was as bad as it gets.
>
>Ever get the feeling that the Packers are holding Aaron Rodgers back?
>
>The Detroit Lions could win up going 0-16, with all 16 losses pure heartbreakers. Wait, didn't I say that in week 1???
>
>With most NFC teams strugglng a bit, the Falcons are quietly ascending the ranks. They showed me something with their win over the Saints, and even more when they didn't slip against the 49ers.
>
>Something will have to give with the Saints in the 2nd half. Either they'll start blowing out people, or they'll start losing a few more close ones. Their defense is getting exposed.
>
>Tampa Fans...savor those 2 victories....they may have to hold you for months.
>
>Carolina Fans....well, there's always the NFL draft.
>
>Don't look now, but the Rams are 2-2. If Sam Bradford can keep the rookie mistakes to a minimum, and if the defense continues to play well, the Rams could actually play meaningful games in December...after all, it's the NFC West.
>
>And on the topic of the NFC West - the 49ers motto is, "This year, NFC West champs...next year, a .500 record". Either way, Mike Singletary is gone after this year, regardless of what happens.
>
>Think the Cardinals would like to have Matt Leinart back? Their QB situation is even worse than Philly's.
>
>Does anyone outside of Seattle actually root for the Seahawks? Seattle may finish 8-8.....undefeated at home and winless on the road.
>
>After week 1, I wondered how many games the Jets might actually win. After Sunday, I now wonder how many they'll lose. Sure, the opponent was Buffalo, but the Jets seem poised to go on a long run.
>
>Well, I take back what I said about Miami being a dark-horse. Nothing worked on Monday night. Not a thing.
>
>Will a Randy Moss trade help the Pats or hurt them? Coach Bill B probably thinks it will help. Not sure Brady feels the same way. The official "Patriot mystique" has officially worn off.
>
>Between the Bills, 49ers, Panthers, and Detroit, the Bills are the worst team in the NFL.
>
>While the Steelers are probably happy to have a 3-1 record without Big Ben, that loss to the Ravens on Sunday had to hurt. For much of the game, it looked like another close encounter where the Ravens would have dozens of chances, but still wind up losing. Their re-match at the Big Crabcake in early December will have major playoff implications.
>
>It's still hard to figure out Baltimore. A popular pre-season favorite, they look sluggish at times, But Flacco's arm is lethal....and he has some weapons.
>
>T.O. had 222 yards in receptions on Sunday - but his fumbling QB couldn't hold onto the ball. If it's not one thing with the Bengals, it's another.
>
>OK, Cleveland has a win. Seneca Wallace isn't great...but he's an all-pro compared to Jake Delhomme. I still say Cleveland has some talent, but can't put it together. The semi-obvious choice is to fire Mangini - but who replaces him?
>
>It's not time for panic in Indy - but certainly time to be concerned. Indy has a very tough schedule for several weeks and the defense is looking mighty questionable. When a QB like David Garrard looks THAT good, something's wrong.
>
>On paper, Houston sometimes looks like the toughest team in the AFC. But they also look like a team that could pull a Noonan at any moment. But they've got mad skills.
>
>This could be the season when the jury finally comes back on Vince Young and the Titans - that they really are a .500 team. Sunday's game was one a team really shouldn't lose.
>
>If Jax could play every team the way they played Indy, maybe they COULD save Jack Del Rio's job. But the Jags just don't seem to show up for games outside the AFC South.
>
>We will learn many things about KC in the next 2 weeks (at Indy and at Houston). 2 losses could be very harmful. A split would be nice. Well, I saw enough in their week 3 aerial show to have confidence that they could actually win BOTH games. KC is #3 in the NFL in rushing offense, thanks to a balanced attack with Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones. They are #5 in the NFL in rushing defense. And they have some great kick returners. We'll see...
>
>Denver's win on Sunday was a big one. And note to everyone...Kyle Orton actually has an arm.
>
>Wasn't Oakland supposed to be tougher this year? Though in fairness, a little more accuracy from S-Bas and Oakland is 2-2.
>
>Phillip Rivers unleashed a great deal of frustration on Sunday. Shaun Phillips was a monster on defense. But San Diego's schedule in November (when they usually make a run) is very rough.
