>NO HITTER!!!! One stinking walk away from a perfect game!
I was thinking about you on our way home from the game. Figured I needed to thank you again. <s>
The game was awesome. Halladay was so good, it would have been surprising to see any hits. The crowd was really good, too. 46,411 IIRC, which means around 3,000 standing room tickets.
It started to rain early on and people just stayed in their seats. Many put their rally towels on their heads, but no umbrellas, no movement until the rain got pretty heavy. Fortunately, it didn't last too long. (And fortunately for us, we sit just under cover, so we didn't even get damp.)
25 first-pitch strikes out of 28 batters. And the hardest hit ball was from a pitcher.
Oh, and btw, Shane Victorino with two hits passed Mike Schmidt to become the Phils' all-time leader for postseason hits.

P.S. I've always though Vic Torino would be a great name for a hard-boiled detective. <bg>
