If you have multiple Bluetooth devices in close proximity, interference is possible. I haven't encountered any cases like that myself.

Dying batteries in the mouse can cause behaviour like that.

With the mouse cursor jumping around, another common problem is a bad mouse pad. Types that cause problems with optical mice:

- Regular geometric patterns. A lot of Dell mousepads have a surface etched with a honeycomb pattern, these are terrible with optical mice

- Printed patterns that on a small scale use dithered colours, and have transitions from one gradient fill to another.

- Glass. If you are using a glass surface on top of say a wooden desk, this is terrible too. A mirror surface is even worse

If you have a plain wooden desk surface (either solid or veneer), that's an excellent optical mouse surface. Try that to see if your problem persists.
