Casablanca seems to be a recurring theme. It is the ultimate romantic movie. You not only remember how much you love it but where you first saw it. (Me: Madison, WI, my first week in town, at a free screening and a free meal sponsored by a coffeehouse that was trying to sell meal subscriptions as an alternative to dorm plans). It's taking all my restraint not to start quoting famous lines by the dozen.
What's amazing is the production was a mess. The cast and script were in flux almost to the first day of shooting. Complete chaos. Yet somehow they made lasting art. Here is a really good book --
