All the Oscars were just the tip of the iceberg (sorry). It broke box office records not only in the U.S. but in countries around the world. England, over $100 million. Japan, over $100 million, a weeks long waiting list to get into theaters showing it. This is the one I am going to rewatch first. Almost all of us have our romantic sides.

>>>IMHO, Sleepless in Seattle is the ordinary movie, not a great one. I haven't seen the other one.

>>Yes, they are not great movies as such. But when I'm in a sentimental mood, like right now, those are on top of my wish list.

Which is the beauty of the movies. We can all have our own favorites and non-favorites. It's a big tent.

Re Tom Hanks, here is something you may find interesting. A few years ago my first love tracked me down in Chicago. She was the head of the homecoming reunion committee and said she had the damndest time finding me. There was no hookup element. I was still married and she was (and probably still is) married to a muck a muck at the Pentagon, living in Virginia. They went to the opening of the military museum in New Orleans and Tom Hanks was the honored guest. This was right around the time "Saving Private Ryan" came out. (If I left that one off my list it was an oversight). She got to meet him and said 1) he is even better looking in person; and 2) he is a really nice guy.
