>In my VFP 5.0a application I have a feature that exports the data to a FoxPro 2.x format so that the user can merge the data with MS Word. I have used the FOX2X file type since Word (especially earlier versions) does not recognize A VFP file. Some users can do the merge just fine but we are getting more and more users who do not have the dBase/FoxPro data access drivers on their system.

Why not install the ODBC driver as a part of your VFP application install? It's a piece of cake to install ODBC drivers as a part of your app if you're using the Setup Wizard to create your install, and there are canned ODBC and ADO installs as a part of the MDAC install available from MSDN Online, which you could include in an InstallShield script if you use InstallShield. And I believe that you can install the necessary drivers as a part of the Office install, too.
