>>A baseball fan's dream. Drama doesn't get much better than this. The Phillies and Giants both won their preliminary series, both kicked off in spectacular fashion by their aces, and now compete for a spot in the World Series. Game 1 is on Saturday.

>>If Halladay gets the best of the Giants I will not squawk a bit. This has been his magic season and I have not criticized him once. Game on!

>As I said in another thread. If they're both on, this could be a game for the ages. If either one of them has an off game, I will be very disappointed (and it doesn't matter which one). I'm really hoping they're both on top of their game.
There is no way they can both be as on as they were in their last starts. But I'm hoping for a great game, too. The Cy against the Freak.
I "watched" Lincecum's last regular season start online. espn.com lets you follow games pitch by pitch. The Giants were locked in a white knuckle pennant race with the Padres and they needed the win. Lincecum allowed only two baserunners, one on an opposite field double in which the batter was jammed, the other a clean single that brought him in. The Giants won 2-1. He is a flower child with some steel in him. What a matchup.
