Again, I would suggest that you set autoopentable to .f. so you can check the file status before continuing. Then you can issue opentables at your leisure.

>The DE insists on blowing up well before it gets to the form's .Error event so it seem I must trap it in the DE's .Error event. This is not a smooth mechanism for detecting a table in use by someone else.
