I can't disagree with you there. The story I read said Vargas Llosa was the first South American to win since Marquez. It didn't occur to me "Who is missing from this list?"
The Nobel is so political. It still irritates me that Graham Greene never won one. Reportedly one voter blackballed him year after year because of his anti-U.S. views.
