I would like a system that allows users to report a problem (assigns a priority level, gives a description and a screenshot of the problem, etc.), then an IT person claims ownership of the problem. The system would let the programmer check out files from SourceSafe and log which files were modified to fix the problem. When finished, the IT person would mark the problem as resolved. It would allow users to search for past problems by description, programmer, files, etc.
Even though Visual SourceSafe has been discontinued, it does what we need it to, which is mostly to prevent files from being modified by more than one person at a time.
