>>>BTW, on logitech.com, a tech says that we should not install any of the Logitech software. The default ones should be used. He also mentions that this is usually related to the bluetooth driver, which is, most of the time, outdated. But, where should we go to verify the bluetooth drivers? I checked the system and it was not obvious to see where to go.

>>>BTW, a lot of people have experienced difficulties with those devices. Some of them have simply returned them and purchased Microsoft wireless devices instead.

>>I'm not up-to-date with the latest Logitech Bluetooth devices, but my general understanding is Logitech supplies a complete end-to-end software package/suite for all parts involved, and which is optimized for use with their hardware. If a Logitech tech support person tells you not to install that software, or the software is otherwise known to be buggy I suppose it should be avoided. But, it might be worth at least trying it - IME it uninstalls cleanly if it doesn't work and you need to remove it later.

>>My experience and opinion is that wireless devices (networking, keyboard, mouse) are inferior to their wired equivalents. If you want a reliable mouse for serious production work, get a wired unit.

>I use a USB wireless mouse for production work everyday on my laptop and have for about 3 years :o) I have to replace the battery in the mouse itself quite often though....

With the end-user support I do I get to test-drive a lot of wireless mice. All of the ones I've tested have a lag between when you start to move the mouse, and when the cursor moves. Sometimes the lag is fairly short, sometimes quite long - especially if the mouse has been sitting and has gone into some sort of power-save mode. Some mice are also inconsistent - you can move a mouse steadily, but the cursor moves jerkily or at varying speeds - even with good mouse surfaces. Although you can get used to these issues I find it really annoying.

Maybe you've just gotten used to a sub-optimal mouse < g > Just for grins, one day try your wireless mouse compared to a plain ol' (wired) MS Optical Wheel Mouse.
Regards. Al
