Wireless keyboards ultimately depend on USB. Unless the mobo has thorough USB boot support, sometimes you can't get into the BIOS or other pre-OS functions (RAID etc.) with a USB or wireless keyboard. Because of this my preference is actually PS/2 keyboards - historically, they have been most widely supported with KVM switches, as well.
