I actually liked Meg Ryan... the first time. But then we had HBO and this movie kept coming up for some seven or eight times, and while she still has a nice smile, I can't stand this movie. About the third time it came up we noticed that nobody was watching it, and then if there wasn't anything worth watching we'd simply not turn the TV on at all. And mind you, it was our first year in the US, when we weren't fed up with TV yet.

Then in 2007 I saw the original, Mankiewicz's "Little shop around the corner" from, I guess, 1934 or so. Much better.

My favorite bad movie is "Otalia of Bahia", by that guy Marcel Camus who made the "Black Orpheus", which was a famous movie in its time. The poster credited Brian de Palma as the director, for reasons unknown. OK, the operator mixed up the reels so two segments somewhere in the middle were shown in wrong order, but the rest didn't make any sense either. They're all just going here, going there (within the same three locations in the village), talking and doing nothing. We were so PO'd that we forked out money for this, that we went across the street to watch Hitchcock's "Family plot", to flush that disaster off.
