>>One annoying thing that I've run into with KVM is when you've got computers of different ages plugged into the same KVM. Older machines might require PS/2 plugs for keyboard and mouse, newer ones might prefer USB. Older systems might only have VGA, while newer ones you'd want to go DVI... Although adaptor plugs will work, you often end up having to deal with occasional problems (e.g. converting between VGA and DVI often results in colors getting shifted).

>Given a keyboard hooked up so that keystrokes are received by multiple machines then all that's needed is a web cam on each monitor and facial recognition software so that it can determine that I'm looking at it. If I am then accept the keystrokes; if I'm not then ignore them......
So.... What you're saying is that... You want your computer to watch over you?
Nah, why not do away with the mechanical interface such as keyboard and mouse and go with a more direct interface -- like brainwave interface? Didn't the model B-9 environmental control robot (Class M-3 General Utility Non-Theorizing Environmental Control Robot) "mind-read" that way one or two occasions (and he's 1990s technology) ?
