You say the main executable is POS.EXE on the local C: drive, but does your program expect to find REGISTER.FXP on a network share somewhere?
I don't *think* VFP caches FXPs to your local temp folder, but I'm not 100% sure.
If you're not supposed to have a REGISTER.FXP in your local temp folder, you could just delete it.
Also, any time you get read errors on a local drive you should run a quick CHKDSK in a CMD window to check for file system errors. Also check the Event Logs (System and Application) for possible disk or other hardware errors.
