It could be a problem with AD2.0 conflicting with your IIS 3.0, which can happen if yo're accessing DBs thought your ASPs
Microsoft realizes this problem and has released a fix for it... to quote them...
T"o resolve this problem, contact Microsoft Technical Support to obtain the a fix, or wait for the release of the Microsoft Data Access Components 2.0 Service Pack (MDAC Version 2.02), which is due in the fall of 1998. "

the hotfix can be downloaded from Microsoft.
