No they're not !!!!

They're just like "Cream of Wheat" cereal, only made with corn instead of wheat! Some people eat grits like cereal (with milk and sugar), I prefer to eat them with butter, salt & pepper. I used to live in the South (Atlanta area for 15 years), which is where I first encountered them.

I wouldn't stay fifteen minutes in a place if someone kept pushing grits at me (g,d & r)
