>>>>>>The "community rep" didn't represent me. Frankly I doubt any one would dare speak out against the judges, so that proves nothing. The panel is completely trustworthy and there was no need of a community rep.

>I'm assuming that was a jest. :o) Not THE Fabian Pascal of Database Debunkings? Can't be. He would not really fall into the "VFP community" would he? More of an expert in the field in general. If he does fall into the "VFP community" umbrella, then I totally was blind to that.... I picture a "community rep" to be from the typical VFP developer community...not an expert and not an MVP, but an active participant in the community (for years) for sure. Even an MVP or former MVP of course (Foxpro of course given the award) would be fine.

That was an old CIS Foxforum in-joke. Fabian - yeah, that one - was a regular gadfly on the foxforum along with Jeff Winchell. They were brilliant but their need to have that brilliance acknowledged, deferred to and generally tolerated was legendary.

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
