I started thinking about implementing the stored procedure and realized that the entire thing would be a rather long SQL UPDATE command. The downside of it is I cannot show a real time progress to the user (like Record by Record progress) but rather just one message saying "Please wait while... whatever". But the first thing is I will see if I can create such Update command.
