Are you saying that a) the actual data pull is slower, based on timing tests, or b) the actual display of the data is slower?
If a), I would look at network topology. Analyze the network path from the TS machine to the SQL Server, in terms of traffic; in terms of routing (all it takes is a jump to another sub-net to muck the works up, unless you've got it put on the fast track in the router/switch), etc.
If b), the new SP for Win2K8 (and Win7) will support MS's new technology (from a company they bought last year), RemoteFX, which greatly enhances the visual speed of remote connections.
