Hey Rick. I talked to Lisa in person about her award, but I wasn't able to catch you after the closing session before I left as you were swamped with 'fans' around you after the event. I knew when I nominated and approved you as a VFP MVP almost a decade ago that you would become a great contributor to the VFP community, but you far exceeded my expectations. And I wish many folks here who've never met you in person sometime have a chance to do so someday, or at least know that in person your passion for VFP is genuine and contagious. Great SWFox event this year, and seemed to be even better than last year.
Once again, congratulations. And with that, I may secretly lobby for both Doug Hennig and Craig Boyd to resolve their rivalry, then team up against you in stealth at SWFox 2011 (ala Godzilla and King Kong teaming up against the three headed monster).
>>It was my great pleasure to announce at Southwest Fox 2010 the recipients of the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award: Lisa Slater Nicholls and Rick Schummer. You can read their profiles at

>Thanks to everyone for the kind remarks here, and to those who nominated me and for the selection committee for the award. I have a blog post half written about the award and being speechless. I wrote it while I was taking some time to rest and relax after Southwest Fox. Today was my first day back in the office after 10 days and as one can imagine, playing catch up with the customers. I have video of the closing session and will get that posted in the next week. Lisa's acceptance video is cool and Doug's selection of video almost played is priceless.
