lol. I've been wondering about this ever since the first version of .NET came out. Another comparison that comes to mind is "trying to knit a beanie without yarn." Talk about brain freeze.

With VS2010 and RIA MS has finally come out with something resembling useful for data heavy LOB apps, but it still takes some heavy lifting to get data moving in, manipulated and moving out. Boggles the mind.

>I just dont get it why MS would go to all the trouble of developing a VS 2010 express (and Full) with all the bells and whistles , C# etc without adding a database. Is there anybody that devlops an app without a database ??
>Its a bit like releasing a Porshe without an engine......sure it will work but you got to get somebody else's engine or start pushing

>>>I've just been doing a bit of experimenting and reading up on Windows 7 Mobile, but a few google searches would seem to suggest that there is no in-built Database with Windows Mobile 7 ?. Surely this could not be true....MS spend millions develipong a new OS and leave out a database , the one thing all applications, even Mobile Apps, will require.
>>>I see thare are some add-ons that you can get, but surely there is a built in database ?
>>>
>>>Would be interested to get clarification on this

>>The core bits to SQL CE are in the wp7; however they have not opened API access to developers. My guess is it will be available in one of the new releases...
