>>>>I am curious to know if people here think that the voters in California will vote to legalize marijuana on Nov 2nd.

>>>Here's an interesting issue concerning this. My son has one of those medical marijuana cards. Of course, we all know why he really has the card. <g> One of the things the law currently allows is that if you grow more than you can use, you can sell the excess to anyone else who has a card, or sell it to the clubs. He says that if the law passes to legalize it, then the price will really drop and he can't make as much money selling the stuff.

>>>Anybody want to hazard a guess as to what the outcome of his little enterprise might be?

>in 2007, 14.4 million Americans aged 12 or older used marijuana at least once in the month prior to being surveyed, which is similar to the 2006 rate. About 6,000 people a day in 2007 used marijuana for the first time—2.1 million Americans. Of these, 62.2 percent were under age 18.

>In 2009, 11.8 percent of 8th-graders reported marijuana use in the past year, and 6.5 percent were current users. Among 10th-graders, 26.7 percent had used marijuana in the past year, and 15.9 percent were current users. Rates of use among 12th-graders were higher still: 32.8 percent had used marijuana during the year prior to the survey, and 20.6 percent were current users.

It maybe just what California real estate needs. If they pass that and adopt Florida or Washington's state tax laws they might be on the way to a comeback.

"Our taxes are low and our citizens are high ! " - I think that's got the feeling of a movement.

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
