>>>>>>Ok so let's say you're not sure what your day will be made of. Perhaps development. You have to carry both your laptop and your iPad? Advantage for the Exo here.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>But as you mentioned the battery seems to be disadvantage on the Exo. But there are external batteries available and one in development that should add 7 hours to the Exo.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>As for your others points I really don't see what I wouldn't be able to do on the Exo.

>>>>>>
>>>>>>You'll certainly be able to "do" many things on the Exo....but how well? Any development work I'd want to do "on the road" would need to be on a machine that's faster than the Exo and has far more hardware resources. Like I mentioned before, after you put virus protection on it, I have to wonder what performance is going to be like. Then again, I have pretty hefty machine requirements, like 6-8 GB of memory, etc. Unless you've already pre-ordered it and have committed your $$$, you may want to really think about whether you'll be happy with the performance.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>I'm not trying to put a damper on your obvious excitement about the Exo. Everyone has different personal tastes, preferences, requirements. My two cents (and barely 2 cents, since I obviously haven't seen the Exo) is that I wonder if this is a product with an identity crisis that will try to be too many things in one package, but none of them outstanding. That's what I like about the iPad. It's identity is very clear. What it does, it does very well. As much as I love my Asus laptop and my HTC Evo phone, I'd have to say the iPad is the best consumer product I've ever put my hands on.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>Tonight I met up with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time. I took my iPad and showed him my entire album of pictures and videos of my daughter.
>>>>>
>>>>>You're planning to do heavy duty development on your iPad? That seems like a job for a souped up laptop to me.
>>>>
>>>>Either you replied to the wrong individual or you misunderstood the message. Kevin's comments were specifically requiring a more robust machine for development and NOT using the iPad for development. Perhaps you meant to reply to Denis?
>>>
>>>I replied to the right individual. I suppose Kevin was talking about a laptop there but it was certainly ambiguous. Feel free to keep pouncing on anything I say, though....
>>>
>>>UPDATE: I see Mike Cole made the same "mistake."
>>
>>Wow. I didn't get that understanding at all....I understood he was asking if some type of remote access to a pc with developer capability was a possibility since Kevin wasn't going to use the iPad for development.
>
>That was the ambiguity. Kevin didn't say he wasn't going to use the iPad for development. You guessed correctly that he meant a laptop when he described the machine he wants to develop on. I guess I didn't think it far enough through because from context I thought he was still talking about the iPad. No big deal, not worth lingering on.

Agreed. I didn't plan on it being a discussion at all. I thought you replied to the wrong person by mistake and that would have meant that the intended recipient didn't receive your question....
