My understanding is that there isn't a USB port on the iPads. Hooking a keyboard up would be nice for certain things, as well as using a thumb drive. If the next generation has those, I may get one.

You can get a wireless keyboard for the iPad...and (I think) you can get a wired keyboard that plugs into the properietary connection.
