I'll definitely take door number two on the first point, although I wish it were otherwise.
A slim majority in the House is not controlling the House. The Dems spent the past two years with a larger majority than the GOP will have and had to scratch and claw to get anything done at all. And that was with a Democratic Senate and President.

We tried other things, but the Democrats kept defeating it. It's their fault."
