I use MSR's from POS-X. They have an app you can download that will allow you to set properties of the MSR. They had me adjust the settings for HID. I haven't tried it yet with SIM (on the road all day today) but it works with my app. I'm currently reading the track data and parsing it. That's why I want to go to SIM.

I'm also having trouble with a USB HID Mag Stripe reader. Or rather SIM is having trouble with the reader. One time it works, next time it doesn't or randomly drops characters from the card stripe. Verifone is researching and may have an update.
