After reading Jones's comments after last night's game, I think there may be a first time.

>Wade Phillips teams have always fallen apart. When he was hired to coach the girls, I knew it would happen again. Jerry Jones has said he won't fire Phillips during the season and last week gave a vote of no confidence to his coach. But then, he can always change his mind and make a coaching change before the season is over.

>>This is shameful. These guys are professionals, well paid, and they bring disgrace to a great franchise (even if I do hate them). They are playing at Green Bay tonight and are getting routed 21-0 just before the half. First downs: Green Bay 16, Cowboys 1. Yards gained: Green Bay 257, Cowboys 35.

>>Wade Phillips is going to be fired at the end of the season, if not before, as he probably should be. You can't fire a whole team of players, unfortunately. But IMO the players are much more to blame for laying down like this.

>>You know it's bad when I take no pleasure in the Cowboys getting thumped ;-)

>>Interesting day in the NFL. The Browns clobber the Patriots, as already discussed by Kevin and Charles. These are not your father's Browns. The Lions let another one get away but they are no longer a team to be taken lightly, either. The Raiders pulled out a Raiders-Chiefs game that meant something for the first time in a long time. And the old gunslinger, Brett Favre, played one of the best games of his career to lead an improbable Vikings comeback.

>>Da Bears eked out a 3 point win over the winless Bills in Toronto. At this point they'll take it. Jay Cutler was not great but he didn't kill them, either. And Mike Martz finally figured out you can run the ball as well as pass it. Julius Peppers, who has been quite a disappointment for a guy making $20 million a year, went out with a boo boo. It wasn't clear what it was and I don't know his condition.

>>Fox ran a viewer poll during the game asking who is the best team in the NFC. The Giants led the voting. (And this was before they annihilated the Seahawks on the road). Amazingly to me, the Bears got 10% of the vote. I need names and numbers because I sense money making opportunities ;-)
