Hi,

What do I need to have IT do to make a VFP application be able to connect to SQL Server Express on a server PC?

Here is what we have tried but not successfully:

1. The customer installed SQLEXPRESS 2005 on a server (server name BACKUP). On the server I can see my database (via SSMS), open tables, etc.
2. Then he mapped the C: drive of the BACKUP server on a computer where I have the VFP application installed (client PC); mapped to driver letter T (I know this is not important).
3. Then I start my VFP application on the client PC that tries to connect to server BACKUP\SQLEXPRESS (name of the server) and database MYTESTDATA but we can a message that "database not found or access denied".

Something tells me that simply mapping the server C: drive was not enough. But what should I ask them to do?

TIA.
