Thanks John, I served 6 years in the Marines at Camp Pendleton, El Toro, Okinawa, and later went on to the US Navy and retired from it in 2001. I am glad I served. My wife and I ate a dinner with a Vietnam Veteran and his wife last night at Chili's; all veterans were given their meals for free. The Vietnam veteran had been in the SeaBees in Vietnam. He was telling us that he had blocked out all these years the horrors he experienced while in country. Although I went in during Vietnam, I never served there. I only heard a lot of stories from Marines who were there. Anyway, this older gentleman was a very humble man, but proud of his service. Whatever people's differences in the politics, the military men are not allowed to voice their opinions about those things and must obey their orders, which they do.
