I believe I figured what the problem was. I have two firewalls on the computer where SQL Server is installed. One for home network (which I disabled) and another one for Public networks (which was enabled). Once I disabled the Public fire wall I seem to be getting connected. Now I will need to figure how to have the Public firewall enabled and still allow me to connect from another computer.

Update: And I figured how to have the Public network enabled and allow access to the SQL Server from the public network.
