your figures do not tally with the mine I got with the Coverage Profiler. A bar (multiple) bar chart is produced in < 1 sec.
The correction James just mailed you is solely for a pie-chart and not for a bar chart (to my knowledge).
Would you be able to give some more details? - like howmany bars, your OS etc etc or even better would you be able to publish the app. with the data given you so much trouble?
