Jon, the issue doesn't have to do with the number of records, curiously, but rather some internal call to GDIPlusX which can be optimized. This problem only surfaces in runtime. (I know not why)

The correction I sent (forwarded from Cesar) corrected for points and lines, and I am not sure it was ever tested for barcharts.
