Just wanted to let you know the solution to the problem I have had (since last week) trying to connect my application from a client PC to SQL Server. Instead of entering the server name into the connecting string (e.g. SERVERNAME) we had to put IP address of the server (e.g. XXX.XXX.XX.XXX\SQLEXPRESS). And this resolved the issue. The IT guy said that because they are a very large organization, their DNS table may not always have correct information.
I figured that I will probably forget about this by dinner time <g>, and you will remember for the next 100 years. So I am sure you will help someone along the way with this issue (that caused a lot of bruises on my forehead <g>).
