>>>LOL. Remind me not to get in a car with you!

>A 125mph trip is very possible on parts of the Autobahn... though there are wider speed limits now and often you encounter temporary restrictions for maintenance. Earlier this year I drove across Germany en route elsewhere: there were 130kph signs but still the big Mercs and Porsches howled past me.

130 kph or 130 mph?

I am so annoyed. I got nailed last week by a camera at a red light. The camera takes photos of every car and license plate going through certain lights. If you were after the red -- which I was, by two seconds turning right -- they send you a $100 ticket in the mail. You can contest it but if found guilty it goes up to $200. There doesn't seem like much point to that if they have your car and license plate, plus the red light, on camera.

The funny thing (not yet, but it will be) is my daughter Emily got caught the same way at a different intersection over the summer. She was really steamed about it. It was after midnight and she was on her way home from a friend's house. She said nobody was even around. I said the camera was around, it never gets sleepy. So when I got my ticket she couldn't stop smiling for about an hour.
