Don't worry, there are plenty of reminders in the Chicago area. At one time (maybe still true) there were more Poles in Chicago than in any city in the world other than Warsaw. The couples in the two houses to my left are originally from Poland. In the city my next door neighbor was Romanian, a former first division soccer player there. Even some of our slimy politicians have Eastern European roots. Nothing like the Irish but they learn fast.
