3H is a target you can strive for if you have normal weather conditions and are not in a high traffic timezone.
The most important stretch is between Frankfurt and Nuremburg, where congestians happen often.
I've been well below 3:00 a couple of times, but mostly when starting around 4:00 -
the first stint is easy in the darkness as well and you are still early enough to get into Frankfurt
before the usual congestion on A3 materializes -
going about 20Km/H faster than each speed limit and well above 200 for the rest.
But that is only autobahn to autobahn - you are really loosing time looking for a parking space in inner cities ;-)
