I'm using a DBC and there a number of views defined. The application accesses the tables directly. I believe none of the views are updating data, but I will check. The edit screens use most of the typical controls such as textbox, combo, and grid. You had mentioned a grid control on a form they could cause unexpected change to current workarea whenever they have focus. What do you mean by that and could that be my problem?

Also, you had wondered where I put the .f. in the field rule. I did it when modifying a table in the section where you can define a field rule.
