>>>>>>Mots big budget films are c__p. I'd see this as it looks fun and I'm not the grinch but the endless spidermen batman harrypotter movies are just beyond tedium.

>>>That may have been one of your plays on words. If you really don't like her, I don't get it. She wrote the first Harry Potter as a young mother on the dole, writing much of it in a public cafeteria or some place like that, her baby with her in a stroller. I think it's terrific that she became so successful.

>I didn't say I enjoy her success enough to have read the books ;-) For that, I have daughters. They have read every word of every book and seen all the movies. I took them to see a couple of the early ones, before they grew out of going to the movies with Dad, sleeping soundly through good stretches. Anyway, that's a long winded way of saying I did miss the Dursley reference and probably wouldn't have gotten it anyway. I deconstructed triples for you yesterday so it only seems fair ;-)

Allow me to explain.

I read the early books to my children

Harrys horrible step parents are called the Dursleys. She called them that because when she was small she grew up in Yate and used to visit Dursley which is about 20 miles away and she hated it. I grew up in Dursley from about 5 years old.

Also bizarrely she has a couple in one book called Mr and Mrs Mason.

So now when I search on google for Dursley and Mason I just get a load of Harry Potter drivel instead of links about where I grew up.
