>>>No matter how brilliant a man, s/he can't be a good president if s/he is not God fearing. I think Sarah Palin can be a good U.S. president...
>>>
>>>By that logic, Adolf Hitler could have been a good president.
>>>
>>>Whether someone believes in God is not really relevant to being qualified for the presidency.
>>>
>>>(Though I would argue that the reasons someone doesn't believe in God *COULD* play a role in how a person approaches problems. I haven't believe in God a single day of my life, but I find myself more aligned with Christians on certain issues than I do with other atheists).
>>>
>>>As for Palin, she is a stone cold moron. And this is coming from a person who is far more right-wing than Palin.
>>
>>Abraham Lincoln was a God fearing president that's why he became the greatest president of America.
>
>His high ranking is not in dispute but you would find many who disagree with "the greatest."
>
>On the other hand, I suspect that you will find huge numbers who, when ranking his attributes and their effect on his greatness, would put religious beliefs far down the list (I wouldn't even consider it a relevant factor)

>>Skills must be tempered with genuine passion to serve the country in order to be a good president. Skills alone won't do anything good for the country.
>
>Given a choice between skills and religious beliefs, I vote for skills. An intelligent, moral aetheist will make a much better president than a moronic Believer.

And what's your basis of morality? In biblical perspective, divorce is immoral, but for some it's not. An aetheist is dangerous at best because he has his own standards.

I use the term "Godly or God-fearing" because there are people who aren't religiously fanatics but God-fearing.

>>As what happened to our country and other countries whose presidents have the necessary skills but lacks genuine passion and heart to serve their constituents.

>What does religious belief have to do with having passion and heart to serve?????

Read my reply to Tore. That explains my point further.
