Never mind your english. My spanish is fine to order a beer. This is the problem if two people using a third language to talk.
So we agree that EAN128 is a kind of datastructure on a Code128 (or DataMatrix).
If you create the EAN from a structure you would need some kind record (dbf, collection or some other list) for AI, data and a flag for checksum creation (except you know if a AI needs a checksum or not). If you leave it to the user, then there seems to be no need for an extra EAN128 Barcode type ...
