I am a religious person myself, but unfortunately, experience has shown that believing in God - or proclaiming a belief in God, it is not always easy to tell the difference - is NOT a guarantee of a good government. For example, Iran is governed by people who say they believe in God, but at least outside of Iran, its government is not generally considered to be a good government.
