>>>No matter how brilliant a man, s/he can't be a good president if s/he is not God fearing. I think Sarah Palin can be a good U.S. president...

>>I am a religious person myself, but unfortunately, experience has shown that believing in God - or proclaiming a belief in God, it is not always easy to tell the difference - is NOT a guarantee of a good government. For example, Iran is governed by people who say they believe in God, but at least outside of Iran, its government is not generally considered to be a good government.

>Koran don't teach a lot of things most of the leaders of Iran do. Just like the Jimaah Islamiyah here in the Philippines, this group are extremist at best but professing they believe in God. God-fearing people don't do things against God laws, and if they erred, there is always repentance which will lead to forgiveness then to restoration. The physical consequences though must not be lifted until justice is served based on the law of the land.

It's not generic at all. It's not generic even within faiths. Living in this country, the faith I am most familiar with is Christianity. That church splintered centuries ago and by no means do all modern day adherents consider God-fearing and and long-suffering to be requirements.

There is a sign on Highway 50 into Lake Geneva, Wisconsin approaching from the east. Actually there are many signs, almost all of them rubbing your shoulders and reducing your stress rate. It's no wonder Illinoisans have been escaping to Wisconsin for a long time.

This one quotes a Biblical passage concluding with "At Christ's feet we will bow." I hate it every time I drive by it, and actually look away. The implication is that our lives, as muddled as they are, are meaningless. We live only in service to some higher power who considers us scum, even though he created us. Like some giant child torturing insects and small animals. If that's the real deal just sign me up for infinite millenia in hell.
