The older daughter publicly apologized for that - it was on the news even. Interesting that everything they do is on the news. I think you are too harsh on Willow. It was terrible language by an emotional 16 year old. I'm sure she heard from her parents all about it :o) Those kids are living in a fishbowl. You are in for a B I G shock if you ever are knowledgeable about what teens say and do when you are not around if you think that was unusual. Our kids behave beautifully around us and other adults. I've seen and heard what some do when they think no adult is around though. Do a little research and you won't like what you learn. I am surprised at the choice of words used though because when my daughter was in high school it was "cool" to be gay by some of the kids and using that term wasn't anti - gay like it's true meaning. Doesn't excuse it one bit, but I am surprised. However, as you know, teens say things and the intention and meaning isn't what we as adults give it. They say what they hear at school among the other kids. I seriously doubt those words are used at home. Given the status of being gay when my daughter was in high school, I was also surprised at the many locations on the news where kids are being bullied for it to this day. Life is just not the same everywhere. Sadly, many teens don't understand the damage they do using words like that.

Have you watched Sarah Palin's Alaska? I watched one show and it was actually pretty good as an informative show on Alaska - not much personal or reality stuff there actually. Not my cup of tea though and I must confess that I watched it just to see what the hoopla was all about. Just can't stomach them though so one show was too many.
