Actually, not necessarily - it would depend on the nature of the discovery itself. Religion has tons more to lose on this one.

As much as I thought the George Burns "Oh, God" movies were incredibly trite, they brought up one point - religious leaders would be the first to object to any evidence, because they'd know their gig would be up. Atheists would be far less affected.

To be candid, unless it could be proven that I'll burn in hell for eternity if I don't accept Christ, I take on the view of Joseph Heller....I could care less.

But as I said earlier, it's all hypothetical. I'll confine my beliefs to the Oregon Ducks winning the National Title game, the KU Jayhawks cutting down the nets in April, the Chiefs getting a big road victory today, and Lumen staying on Dexter for another season. <s>
