I know you will be laughing but I believe in karma. Just recently I bought a different HP printer (because the old one does not work with Win 7 on my new computer). And I think this one (712c) could not bear to see me looking lovingly at the new printer and died from the broken heart <g>.
>HP 712C, born 20xx, died peacefully 11-30-2010. RIP!

>>Amazing but connecting the printer to a different computer with a different cable didn't change anything. I thought that printers last "forever" (or at least when drivers are not available for the OS). But I suppose they do wear something inside and need to be replaced.

>>>I forgot to suggest connecting to another computer, or with another cable.

>>>>>>I have had this printer for many years. Lately I started having the issue of colors printed wrong. Instead of blue it prints pink, instead of green, gray. I replaced the cartridge but no change. I aligned the printer, no change. I printed a test page and the Windows logo is in the pinkie color. Does it mean that the printer is past its useful life?
