I think I was confusing you with another post.
Here's the ideas I gave him:
1) A 2 column grid sitting to the left of an 18 column grid.
2) Code in the Scrolled event that keeps the column visible (this would probably be really nasty to code/get working)
3) set up the splitter bar, using code in the mouse events you can functionally disable their ability to scroll the left part of the grid. But this puts a big splitter in the middle of your grid.
>There was only one reply, and the solution wasn't really suitable. I need to use only one grid, and it's imperative that I lock the first 2 columns. These 2 columns contain information that needs to be displayed regardless of which column is being edited. The functionality is similar to that of a spreadsheet when it locks a column.
